"Breast feeding support"

About: Wishaw General Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

My son is now 16 weeks old and I'm still breast feeding him - if it wasn't for the breast feeding support team based at Wishaw General, and Jacqueline in particular, I would have given up in the first few weeks.

He had a tongue tie and it's thanks to Jacqueline that it was referred and sorted. She was so supportive and gave me the advice and confidence to keep going even when it was tough.

Hello JLo,

Congratulations on the birth of your son and well done in overcoming these breastfeeding challenges. Thank you for feeding back your experience to us of the support you have received from our Breastfeeding Service and Jacqueline in particular. Our team endeavour to ensure that every woman and baby is provided with a person centred approach of care and support

Not all women experience feeding difficulties when their baby has a tongue tie, however some women do encounter challenges in the early days and this would have been very difficult for you, so well done for contiuing to breastfeed your son throughout this.

Enjoy the days ahead and don't hesitate to keep in touch with the team for any further support or advice.

Best Wishes
