"Ridiculous policy"

About: Queen Marys Hospital (Sidcup)

I went to the urgent care centre with an excruciatingly painful throat as I could not even swallow water. I also had a sudden sore rash. I booked in with the sore throat but when I saw the nurse, after starting off by mentioning my throat, I said that whilst I was sure that it was unrelated, I had this very sore rash. Before I even finished my sentence, I was cut dead and told I could not bring up the rash as I had only booked in for the sore throat. I was diagnosed with laryngitis and given antibiotics. A day and a half later the painful throat was just as bad so I got a second opinion. Turns out that the rash was completely related to the sore throat as they are caused by one illness which is viral so antibiotics won't work anyway.

It just shows that symptoms other than the main one should never be dismissed like that. I am quite appalled that the Nhs is now so bad that staff are not even allowed to look at a picture as a whole but rather should deal with just deal with the obvious with no real regard for the patient. Disgusting.
