"Hospital Review"

About: Whittington Health NHS Trust

I was taken by ambulance yesterday 18.05.2016 to the E&A.at 4 pm. I was told by the medics who brought me that the department asks that I seat on a chair until a bed is available.

As I was in no shape to sit due to prior three hours vomiting, dizziness, a heavy legs and numbness, I refused to leave the medics’s bed , after a while,

I was offered a bed in the corridor which was fine by me.

I was left without any one coming to me for nearly 1h45 mins and then I asked a nurse if I will be soon, they left and never come back. The corridor bed was near the nurses’ station so I asked to speak to someone senior. When they come I asked them and they replied that the waiting time is two hours, which is unfortunate but can be understood.

However, I asked them for a glass of water as I was dehydrated from the severe vomiting; their answer was “why don’t you get up and get it yourself”. I was gobsmacked by their reply as I was so ill and helpless; they did bring a glass of water with a ‘cold stare’.

I couldn’t but wonder laying in the corridor bed how did they become senior staff with such a cold heart.

It is a crime that we get heartless people in such an honourable and humane position.

I did ask a nurse for a glass of water (as I was really thirsty) after I was allocated a bed, however, they never brought it.

I hope I never get ill near the Whittington hospital as they have the worse service by far.

P.S: However, the doctor was one of the best I came across in an E&A department in the UK, thank you for their kindness, professionalism, proficiency.
