"Left lung microwave ablation"

About: St James's University Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as the patient),

I have had a series of operations for lung cancer over the last two years at St James Leeds, the last one was in April this year, and compared to the other three was a doddle. the others were invasive, but this time the areas could be reached with ablation techniques. operated on in the morning, and on my way back home the following evening, fantastic. the three previous operations, all had complications, and all required the best part of two weeks in hospital. the only criticism as always, is there are not enough staff, and they always seem busy.

Dear lungcancerleeds2016,

Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

I was very happy to read that your last experience was a positive one,

I have passed your comments on to the relevant management teams and have asked that they share them with their teams so that they too are aware of the great work they are doing.

I have also asked that they take into account your comments regarding the lack of staff on the ward and that they look into this.

I wish you a quick recovery from your procedure.

With kind regards

Rosie
