"Wonderful treatment at the Langdale unit"

About: Westmorland General Hospital / Langdale Unit

(as a relative),

My husband was admitted to Lancaster Hospital after suffering a stroke in February. After 2 weeks he was then transferred to the Langdale Unit in Kendal Hospital. The care and attention he received in Kendal was first class. This was a great comfort to all the family as my husband had experienced two falls while in the care of Lancaster Hospital. The travelling to and from Lancaster was becoming quite a strain for his visitors and it resulted in him only having a visit during the day and no visit in the evening. This second visit by the family while in Kendal meant so much to my husband. All the nursing staff and physic staff at Kendal have been magnificent, such care and patience was wonderful to witness. My husband was very happy with all the meals he was given and ate well, he hardly lost any weight while he was ill, his weight was monitored to check this. The only way to service I feel I could be improved would be for patients to be based at Kendal from start to finish, so as to minimise disruption.
