"Doctor never took my opinion into account"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I am being treated for a case of iritis at Stepping Hill Hospital, and it’s at a bad time for me, I’m in the middle of studying for my GCSE's and doing coursework. Most of the doctors and nurses I have seen have been nice, but I found there were two that were not. I felt they constantly interrupted me when I told them the problems and never took my opinion into account. When I asked for a letter to give to the exam board to provide evidence for them so they know I have been ill, I was told that I could not have one. In my opinion it was because they couldn’t be bothered to write one as it took up part of their time. One of them said to me that it wasn’t his concern and I should just work harder towards my exams. But how am I supposed to do that when I can’t concentrate on writing for long periods of time? I also told him that cutting down a dosage of medication had given me seriously bad headaches and it was decided to cut them off completely which seems odd to me. If there is something causing a patient pain and something else relieving it, then I think surely you shouldn’t stop them taking what relieves it as long as it wasn’t harming them.

I never once saw the same doctor twice but they all said it seems to be improving, but how would they actually know? I think they haven’t seen it before and they have their notes but I think that’s basically a scribble showing them the eye pressure and the medication provided. I thought the doctor I had today was very rude and unhelpful.
