"Mother-in-laws recent visit"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead)

My elderly relative recently had to have a cryoscopy performed. Whilst accompanying her I was delighted to observe the interaction of the staff from receptionist through to the doctor performing the task.

Care - she was treated with empathy and respect throughout

Compassion - her views and concerns were listened and responded to

Commitment - she was seen on time by designated staff who all demonstrated a shared role in ensuring the experience was less traumatic

Competent - all staff knew and performed their roles with competence

Communication - she was engaged and consulted throughout the experience

Courage - I hope that if needed, the the staff would speak out to improve service

Teaching professional skills and values it was very reassuring to see these values working in practice .

Excellent patient care is a high priority for us and we are always delighted to read such positive experiences from people visiting our hospital. Thanks for taking the time to feedback and we hope your mother in law feels better soon.
