"They seem to create more problems than they solve"

This is an absolutely terrible mental health service. Perhaps they're all like this in the NHS, I don't know because this is the first time I've ever needed one (as an outpatient). The staff seem to go out of their way to promise help that often never materializes. All they do is keep "claiming" that they're trying to help - but then never actually do anything. Its all just empty promises and no follow-up.

They will get you addicted to dangerous prescription medications with promises of help to come later on and then they'll abandon you and leave you with a drug addiction that you never had before! You're then forced to find "other" methods to obtain these medications, or suffer the horrendous withdrawal by yourself, with no hope of support from them.

The very first person I spoke to from the service was a lovely person who made me feel safe and like someone actually cared and they actually listened to my problems with sympathy and came up with what sounded like a great strategy to help me - I was totally onboard with it. But then I was passed on to other unsympathetic people who basically don't listen and just pushed aside all that I was promised and started to introduce more and more limitations to what help I could hope for until eventually it came down to a 'take it or leave it' ultimatum with a therapist that they had already admitted several times wasn't properly qualified to help me!

I would not be at all surprised if this service created more mental health problems within the community then they actually cure. They have certainly made me worse. They constantly keep saying that they're short on staff and resources, but then why is this service even allowed to operate in the first place if they're not fit for purpose (by their own admission)?
