"Second child birth experience - exceptional again!"

My son was born by planned Caesarean section on April 25th, my second child born in this hospital.

My pre-natal care ranging from consultant visits, an unplanned three night admission due to a bleed, scans, specialist scabs, pre op review.... I could not have asked for better care.

The admission for the birth and my post natal care was also amazing. I had a fantastic team looking after me from admission right through to discharge. All of my worries and anxieties were put at ease. We had a wait for the c-section, however due to emergencies this couldn't be helped and we were kept well informed the whole way through.

During the procedure I felt safe with the team, I had the most amazing anaesthetist who made the experience so much more relaxing for us with their calming nature and fantastic photo skills capturing those precious first moments for us!

Despite this being a surgical intervention I was allowed my son straight to my chest for skin on skin contact. Such a fantastic experience!

The staff in the observation area were great and the midwifery care was amazing over the next few days with so much support and encouragement. Even though our stay fell over the doctors strikes on both of my admissions, the standard of care remained outstanding and I couldn't have asked for more.
