"A visit to A & E re a suspected DVT"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I was treated by all staff I saw with total respect but in a kind & caring way. I am needle phobic sl the prospect of blood tests & injections into stomach were very stressful but the way they dealt it was so calm & friendly that it was not the awful experience I was dreading. I cannot praise staff n A & E enough. It was a busy weekend but I felt my care was important to them & nothing was at all rushed.. I am so grateful & am glad to be able to get the chance to express this.

Dear GrandmaH,

Any visit to hospital must be difficult for people who have a fear of needles, so it is good to hear that you felt the staff in our emergency department were calm and friendly and helped you to receive the treatment you needed. I will ensure that your appreciation is passed on to the team.

With best wishes,

Cathy White
