What I liked
My treatment was at all times caring, professional and ultimately effective
What could be improved
I am profoundly deaf and have a cochlear implant. There seems to be a serious lack of fundamental expertise in communicating with deaf people particularly among the doctors, much less so with other staff. I found myself giving each doctor the same little lecture about not shouting, about not talking into my ear or speaking unnaturally. In a medical ward with a preponderance of elderly people about 25% of whom will have some hearing loss, I found this surprising.
Anything else?
I was very impressed by the meticulous organisation (this was ward 24)
"My treatment was at all times ..."
