"Zero follow up."

I'm writing this review about the care of my partner for whom I have been caring for several years.

This trust was okay (not good, just acceptable) during an emergency crisis last year - got him a bed in a short term ward. However they released him a week later after no improvement, so he tried to commit suicide again a week after that, and I basically had to get him sectioned.

This time they moved him to a longer term ward, where he stayed a whopping two weeks. However, this time it seems they found medication that stabilised him a bit more and he was okay for a little while. There was one, maybe two follow up appointments to adjust the dosage.

After that they cancelled 2 appointments in a row (doctor's in training [then don't book an appointment for that day!], doctor's on holiday [again, you need to plan these things!]) and didn't bother booking another one.

It''s now been almost an entire year without a follow up appointment, no phone call or anything.

This is utterly unacceptable.

Without me noticing (because I'm not a trained mental health physician!) his medication has gradually become more and more useless. His mental state has degraded again so I will be calling Monday morning and requesting an urgent follow up appointment (because apparently none of the DRs care enough to do so).

Leaving someone on medication without any follow up is terrible service. It is downright irresponsible and, when mental health and suicide is concerned, puts lives directly at risk.
