What I liked
When my elderly father (the patient) was seriously ill the attention and care was excellent.
What could be improved
Father had very limted mobility and dexterity prior to admission but despite being told several times about this staff still placed items of food in packaging on his tray which he could not open. Similarly it took several attempts to get staff to put drinks in a beaker with a straw. If I had not visited frequently and insisted that they appreciate his limitations I think he would have gone hungry. As it was he did not eat much whilst in the ward. He was by far the most frail person on the ward which seemed ill equipped to deal with patients who need a high level of personal care.
Also he wasn't shaved for several days (he cannot do this for himself)
