I had both my babies at York hospital, the second in February 2016. The facilities have improved dramatically since I had my first baby in 2008. I delivered in a lovely room with its own toilet & large bath. My stay in hospital was very short, I arrived at 5.30am, delivered at 5.49am and was discharged at 11.30am. They would have discharged me earlier if there hadn't been a wait for the hearing test. It was a all a bit of a whirlwind and I felt like they couldn't get rid of me quick enough! On the plus side I could stay in the same room until I left without being transferred to a ward. To conclude my experience was positive, the midwives we're lovely and they moved very swiftly, I delivered a healthy baby on a bed (not in the car/corridor which could have been the case!) I would definitely recommend York maternity unit.
"Good maternity unit"
