"Great hospital shame about the pharmacy"

About: University College Hospital

The nurses and doctor were professional. The doctor listened to my concerns and responded to my query. I had to get bloods done and this was all very quick and painless. However, I then had to go to the pharmacy to get a prescription filled. There were 19 prescriptions ahead of me and it took 1.5 hours to get my prescription. I asked before they filled it if I could get it filled somewhere else and was told no. They should not offer this service as it can't cope with the demand. How frustrating that this department lets the whole hospital down. I would make sure to ask if my prescription can be sent to my GP in future and recommend other people do the same.

Thank you for taking the time to feed back to us. We are very sorry to hear about your recent experience of the Pharmacy at UCLH. We would be grateful if you could contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) via pals@uclh.nhs.uk or by calling 020 3447 3042 so that we can look into this.
