"Professional and speedy Accident & Emergency..."

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

Having been unconscious at home for some 3 to 4 minutes, my wife dialed 999, the ambulance arrived in within a few minutes after a thorough check over [the ambulance personnel were wonderful not only with me but also my wife]. They took me to A&E, there was a rapid handover from ambulance crew to A & E staff,

I was rapidly assessed, thoroughly checked over again, blood samples taken and having been seen by the Doctors following the results of the blood tests, we were on our way home in less than 4 hours from when it all began at home.

Both my wife and I were dealt with professionally and speedily there was no problem regarding waiting for assessments or actions as may be expected at busy times.

Thank you to all the staff involved.

Response from Royal Blackburn Hospital

Dear Martin

Many thanks for your kind comments regarding your care in A&E at Royal Blackburn Hospital and thank you for taking the time to do so.

I am so pleased that you found the ambulance staff wonderful, not just with yourself but with your wife also.

I have passed your comments onto the Ambulance service.

It is really good to hear that you were dealt with professionally and speedily within A&E, and I will ensure your comments are passed onto the staff who I am sure will be delighted to receive such lovely comments.

If you would like to talk through your experience with one of our Patient Experience team so we can further understand the aspects of your visit that made this such a good experience for you we would really value this so that we can try to make it like this for every patient visiting our hospitals and using our services.
