Attending ED at 11am this morning with my partner who has chest pain. Both the nurses and doctor who looked after him were fab. Kept us up to date with what was happening and the plan. The plan was a repeat blood test 6 hours after the last one so due at 6pm with repeat ECGs throughout the afternoon to monitor the changes noted on those taken in ED whilst he was on MAU. Thats were the story changes ..... The space in MAU we were shown to was cramped and hot and my partner the one who came in with chest pain was plonked in a chair and left until 6.30 no repeat ECGs no checkjng on his pain or
SOB.
Many elderly patients with relatives only one drink offered to patients absolutely no facilities for relatives or carers.
Doctor was taking and handling blood with no gloves on I am appalled. We were told the blood results would be available in an hour. Two hours later we are still waiting no obs taken on my partner or checking he was ok. I will never attend his hospital again.
