From A&E to Albury Ward my care and attention was exemplary. Once installed in Albury with one or two minor exceptions (night teams) I was made to feel "significant", not an anonymous, "merely another patient". And this level of care applied to all of my fellow patients, most of whom were not in an apparent state of awareness.
At every level, ward staff applied high levels of professional performance at the same time delivering it with warmth and humour. All of this contributed to my level of confidence and sense of well-being, important constituents in patient recovery.
Never could there be a better example of our total dependence upon "immigrants" to maintain our NHS. A polyglot of nationalities; Rumanian, Spanish, Hungarian, French, Italian &c. All with impeccable English language and awareness of our social mores.
