"My mothers wait for an ambulance today"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

My mother was found lying on the floor at 12 noon where she had been for six hours. the east Renfrewshire rapid response team were there very quickly and she was lifted up and put on a commode chair. NHs 24 were contacted and a doctor arrived at 4 pm who said she needed hospital admission. we waited for an ambulance till 230 am, An unacceptable wait for an 84 year old woman who was in need of medical attention.

The paramedic staff were excellent but the wait for an ambulance was totally unacceptable.

Dear disappointed NHS worker,

I was very sorry to see your post and I am very sorry that your mother has such a long wait for an ambulance. She (and her family) must have been very upset by the whole experience and I hope that she is recovering well.

Such a long wait is highly unusual for us and I would like to look in to the call that was made for your mother so that I can find out what happened and then get back to you to tell you what happened on the evening in question.

Please may I ask you to contact me on 0141 810 6101?

Regards,

Pat
