"Magnificent experience of cataract operation at..."

Yesterday I had an amazing experience of having cataracts removed from my right eye and a prescription lens fitted.

The whole thing was literally an eye opener! (sorry).

The procedure was incredibly quick and while rather uncomfortable was pain free.

Today I can see as never before and read a number.plate at nearly 40 yards.

It is quite wonderful.

I cannot read with my right eye alone but can read ok because of my left.

I am now thinking not to have the operation on the left eye because of this.

I fly and play golf and the prospect of flying without glasses and yet still being able to read the air chart is great.

Also golfing in the rain will no longer be the pain it has been because of having to wipe between every shot!

Playing the clarinet with the need to read the music while also needing to keep an eye on the accompanist or conductor promises further delights!

I am overwhelmed with gratitude at being given this exciting new lease of life at 75.
