"Disappointing ED Experience"

I visited the ED of Bath RUH twice recently, once on the 22nd April and again in the early hours of Monday morning via Ambulance this time and was admitted both times, but this was only after me firmly having to tell the doctor that something wasn't right and I wasn't prepared to go home without any kind of plan. I saw the same Doctor both times and they were persistent both visits that I would be better of at home and that there was nothing they could do, despite being already hooked to IV fluids and paracetamol by the Paramedics and frequently vomiting with an intense persisting pain!

I had to argue my point throughly before they would speak to other doctors who know more about my condition who admitted me, and I'm concerned about what would have happened both times if I had agreed to their 'plan' of leaving the ED considering that both times once I had been admitted, the doctors on the ward put me straight on IV fluids, IV anti-sickness and also medications to attempt to line my stomach, as I had presented to the ED with symptoms of Internal Bleeding which I have had in the past, as well as doing simple urgent blood tests to check my Hemoglobin levels which the ED Doctor didn't even consider! The second time I also ended up with a Nasogastric tube due to my lack of appetite and ability to eat, and the hospital were aware this was considered the admission before too which should have been in my notes for the ED Doctor to see.

Very disappointed, and worried about what could happen in the future regarding these situations. I would happily sit face to face with this Doctor and discuss my concerns as I believe they should be expressed to the trust due to the possible circumstances this situation could have ended in.

Other than that, though - the ED Nurses were amazing, as were the Children's Ward Nurses, and everyone else we met on the way.
