Response from Warwick Hospital

I am sorry to hear that the development work affected your relatives experience.

For the safety of visitors we have had to re-locate some of the designated blue badge spaces to the main car park. During peak times, our car park can unfortunately get very busy, however we offer more than the recommend number of blue badge spaces which are located in the main car park, in front of the Aylesford Unit and in the car park across Lakin Rd.

Car parking charges for blue badge holders was altered in line with the national travel cost scheme, which states that the only exemption to car parking charges is for patients who are on means tested benefits. This is in line with other public sites and the same charges for all patients will now apply. If blue badge holders are on means tested benefits then forms can be collected from the security office and volunteers desk, completing this form will enable which will enable them to claim these costs back.

With regards to wheelchair coins, this has been introduced to ensure that wheelchairs are returned to the correct areas so that they are available for when patients/visitors require them.

If you would like to discuss anything further please contact our patient experience team on 01926 600 054.
