"Signposting"

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital

Being new to the hospital, I found the signposting quite poor, some areas are not signed until you get close to them eg CT scan ; I had one on a Sunday, so no one on reception and few other staff around.

I eventually found it by asking other visitors.

The treatment I received was excellent, but even some of the staff agreed the directions to the department are poor.

Thanks for letting us have your feedback.

I am pleased that you received excellent treatment today, but I'm really sorry you had difficulty finding the department.

You are alone in finding our site difficult to navigate, so I hope you'll be pleased to know that we are about to start work on a project to improve wayfinding and signage across the hospital and to improve the information we put about directions in our appointment letters.

We have a few volunteers in the main entrance who help to escort patients to where they need to go, but we would like to encourage more volunteers to take up this valuable roles - and that's something else we will be trying to achieve over the coming months.

With best wishes Sarah Turner-Saint, Head of Communications
