staff adherence to hospital rules regarding uniform

In the space of 10 minutes I witnessed 3 members of staff (2 of them senior nurses)coming in from the street in their uniform. Later I observed another as I have on subsequent days, leaving the hospital and shopping in Booths etc .in uniform

D and V infections are rife inthe hospital and I cannot believe that these practices do not contribute to cross-infection.

I was under the impression that there were strict rules about uniform for patient safety. Penalties need to be enforced for those not adhering to them. Generally staff look scruffy and unprofessional. Hair untidy, scruffy trainers, long nails and scruffy dirty looking uniform.
