"Paedetric A&E shambles"

About: Warrington Hospital

I arrived here with my 3 year old son after he split his head open.

The waiting area in the children's A&E is not fit for purpose. Not enough seating, poorly designed with you situated in a place where everyone can't observe their own children. The seats are plstic chairs and very uncomfortable. There is nowhere for tired children to sit comfortably should they wish to sleep whilst waiting the ridiculous waiting times.

They said it was a very busy evening and that's why there was nowhere to sit. I would say it appeared busy as there was only 1 doctor in the department with around 10 patients waiting to be seen. The staff seem to spend more time updating records in patient that actually giving medical attention. One poor lady had 3 young children with her. Two of her children ended up lying in the floor in the corridor to sleep. It was like something from a hospital in Mogadishu.

The nhs must be in its knee's. Paying for hospital parking whilst paying over a £1000 a month in deductions in tax and national insurance from my wages is another negative.
