"MRI scan waiting time"

About: Southlands Hospital

I had an appointment in February this year to see a physio, the reception staff and physio staff were all very helpful and welcoming, and the treatment I had at the start was first class, being sent for blood tests and a hip X-ray straight away to find out what is causing the hip/pelvic pain I have had for over a year now, it is affecting my work, I work with young children and I find using stairs painful. I was told I would need an MRI scan and appointments would come through in 6 weeks, after that time I rang up to be told it was now an 8-10 week wait as there was a big backlog of people needing scans which was fair enough, it is now 11 weeks and when I rang to find out if they know anything I was told the scan unit have no record of me being referred, paperwork got lost!! I have been told I have been referred again, how do I know I have been this time, is there a cancellation list I can go on to get an appointment sooner, am I now at the bottom of the pile.???

Thank you for your kind comments about your experience in our physio department.

We are sorry that things were not as positive with regard to your MRI referral.

We would be happy to look into this but as this site is anonymous, we cannot do this for you from here.

Please contact our PALS department on 01903 285032 or palsworthing@wsht.nhs.uk where a member of the team will be pleased to help.
