"7 year old Daughter - high temp & abdominal pain"

About: King George Hospital

We were advised by the 111 telephone service to go to King Georges.

On arrival - at 3:45am - we were seen and details taken, front desk/reception staff were polite and courteous.

We were given equipment to get a urine sample from my Daughter and the toilets were spotlessly clean.

We waited no more than an hour to be seen and the Dr was friendly, polite and professional. My Daughter was given a thorough examination and the Dr listened to everything we said, and asked lots of questions regarding her symptoms.

We were given some medicine and instructions to monitor her at home, with strict instructions to go straight back if no improvement.

I cannot thank the staff enough.

I was amazed at how smooth the whole process was...admittedly there was only 1 other person waiting to be seen, but the feel of the place was so much better than we had feared.

We are very lucky to have such a wonderful NHS service and such caring dedicated people that work for it.

I’m delighted to hear about your experience when you attended the Emergency Department with your daughter and thank you for taking the time to comment on the care your daughter received.

It’s wonderful to know that you were listened to and fully involved in the examination process.

I am so pleased that you received such a high standard of care from everyone you came into contact with. I will ensure that your comments are passed onto our Emergency Departments’ management team, in order that they can share your experience with staff.

I hope your daughter is now feeling a lot better.

Yours Sincerely

Kathryn Halford

Chief Nurse
