"Not getting any help!"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead)

Been here four times with abdominal pain have no idea what's causing it a doctor turned around and said it will be very unlikely we will find out what is a matter with you. Was also in ward 9 where I had no idea where my buzzer was, so I had to walk to see a nurse when in a lot pain and also on discharge it took them 6 hours to make my script (with my medication) asked where it was for the nurse to say it went ''missing'' Doctors in the short stay unit no better. One of them didn't want to touch my stomach as they had ''cold'' hands, Also on discharge in the short stay unit I walked out in so much pain no one seemed to care.

We're sorry to hear about your experience and what you describe certainly falls short of what we expect for all our patients.

You can see our Ward 9 and Short Stay Ward matrons or contact our PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) on 0800 653 0667 or pals@ghnt.nhs.uk. They can collect some more details from you and look into what happened in your case on your behalf.
