"Lifeline Kirklees have helped me greatly"

About: Lifeline North Kirklees

(as a service user),

When I was in my mid 30s I travelled with a guy and the kids for a weekend away and was still taking amphetamine. The guy influenced me to take some heroin. I did take the heroin which then became addicted immediately and took continually for six months. I went to mums and cold turkeying for a week which was hell. After six days I could stand but felt like crap. Mother sent to shop to get mums cigs but mum was testing me to see if I would a bag of herion. I didn't get any herion and stayed off it until 2009 stayed at mums and was homeless it didbnt work out there so stated at friends house who was a drug dealer she got busted and police thought it was mine which I admitted to. I got sent to court was on remand for 6 months and then did 14 month in prison and got out with a tag. I went on a drugs awareness course and did well I got out did well went to mums did 4 months there didn't get rehoused nobody could help with a bond which led me to going back to my old ways. I became involved with lifeline who have helped me greatly and I feel im on a stable road to recovery.
