"Excellent labour ward"

About: Calderdale Royal Hospital

Writing this review has taken a little longer to get around to than I hoped but I have to give credit to the staff on the labour ward at Calderdale Royal Hospital. After attending the hospital to visit the labour ward and birthing centre after the 2 hour birthing course offered from the NHS I was greatly put at ease by being able to see exactly where my baby could be born. I was so scared at the thought of labour so being able to see things under ordinary circumstances was a great help for my worries. I found all the staff to be very pleasant and caring whilst in the hospital which at a time of pain is extremely appreciated. I was induced a few days before Christmas and delivered a healthy baby girl after the aid of the midwife. The midwife didn't leave the room after the induction got going and was honest with me through the whole process so I knew exactly what to expect. By the end of the labour I was just wanting to deliver in time before their shift ended as I felt they had cared for me so well and wanted them to deliver me which the midwife did on Christmas Eve. The staff were so accommodating regarding visitors during the long induction process and provided well for myself and my partner whilst we were there. I will definitely be planning to have my next baby at Calderdale Royal and would recommend to any woman that is expecting.
