What I liked
All the staff looking after my mother were helpful and understanding although busy
What could be improved
My mother was in ward 5. She went in with medecine. No explaination was given as to why she was taken off then. I had to find out what would happen to mother and what the procedures had to be gonw through before she would discharged. May I suggest that a small leaflet is produced that sets out briefly some of the following. How does a family representative find out about medical teatment, what are the discharge procedures and contacts? etc. I did not know who to ask and felt very embarrassed at asking. A wee crib would have made me feel less intrusive and better informed. By contstantly asking ther staff, looking in the yellow pages and the internet I found who was doing Mum's discharge assessment and what the family should be told especially about her condition. I felt frustrated at not knowing what was happening. A brief guide would have been so helpful.
