"Closure of child care clinics"

About: Bromley Healthcare

(as a volunteer/advocate),

This is about the closure of all church based children's clinics. These clinics have been run for decades providing locally based care and support at minimum cost. Often voluntary groups have supplemented services offering friendship to new parents.

With the minimum of notice it all goes - this is a story with a very sad ending and its consequences will not be appreciated because of economic shortsightedness.

The value of locally based (often within walking distance) and personal services is crucial. What condition does the authority have when it fails to see the obvious and denies to the next generation what has been of proven benefit to the last?

Thank you for your posting.

Could I ask you to send your contact details to our Assistant Director of Children's Services, Felicity Akers (felicity.akers@bromleyhealthcare-cic.nhs.uk) and she will get in touch with you to discuss your concerns further?

Kind regards

As an update to the posting above, thank you for contacting Felicity

I believe she explained that clinics were being closed due to changes in commissioning and although disappointed by this you did understand that we were not to blame as a provider.

Once again I am sorry that you have had cause to express your concerns.

Kind regards

Amanda
