i got rushed into A&E suffering from serious chest pains. I spent 4 days at the RL before being transferred to Barts for a specialist angiogram. In the time I was there, mainly on ward 11E, I was treated with the utmost professionalism and care by the doctors, nurses and nursing assistants. The clinicians were highly competent, reassuring and caring. They arranged tests quickly and efficiently, many such as my CT scan, taking place almost immediately after initial diagnosis. in some cases, the doctors came to check up on me even after their (long) shifts had finished.
The RL is an amazing modern hospital with excellent facilities but when you are seriously ill the most important factor is the attitude of the staff. I want to thank all concerned during my stay for the very high level of care. Having seen first hand some of the "difficult" members of the public that staff have to deal with only increases my admiration for the work they do..
