I cannot explain what a horrendous experience I received in this hospital.
A&E were fantastic and that was about it .
I was admitted on the 24/03/16 and quickly dealt with by the a&be department , I was given pain relief and a drip for antibiotics.
From then on it went down hill I was quickly transferred to A1 when after a couple of hours I asked for pain relief .... I asked 3 times then in the end I took my own paracetamol from my bag .. I gave up .
I was then transferred to B18 , here I was left without my medication as my file was at the pharmacy . I offered to go the pharmacy myself to collect and I raised my concerns that I would be putting in a formal complaint , I also reminded the staff that I was there for them to make me better. There was confusion over what scan / X-ray I needed... First ultrasound .. This was the wrong scan. It took another 4 days to be booked in for the correct scan only to be told when I got down to ultrasound there was no one available to do it . I refused to move out of this department until I had the correct scan, of which I then received.it was decided I needed to be on c20 .. This took a full day to organise and I was no further on with my condition than what I was the day before. I cannot repeat what I witnessed how some of the elderly patients were treated on B18 .
Once I am completely better I will be raising a formal complaint but at the moment I am still reliving the whole experience.
"Disgusting"
