"Couldn't see the sign at the eye clinic"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as a relative),

Logged in for appointment using screen. Machine accepted and advised that the appointment was confirmed. Went along to eye clinic - passed the receptionist who had eyes glued to vdu - lacking peripheral vision I sat for 40 minutes, not noticing the sign which advised seeing someone if you hadn't been called in 15 minutes ( The sign was positioned at knee height and was perhaps more suitable for five year olds )

It turns out that, although the machine knew we were there it was reluctant to pass this information on to the eye clinic - every other department was o. k. but not that eye place!

I work in a small team within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Part of the team’s role is to support patients and carers through our feedback systems which will help to improve the services we provide. On Patient Opinion, I support Lorna Gray, Patient Experience Public Involvement Project Manager, and Niall McGrogan, Head of Patient Experience Public Involvement.

Dear roncald

Thank you for sharing your recent experience on Patient Opinion. I am sorry to hear about the problems you experienced at the New Victoria Hospital.

I will pass your comments on the Ophthalmology department on your behalf.

Best wishes
