"I am now terrified of being admitted to hospital"

I was an inpatient here in early 2016, having had two previous stays at the Abraham Cowley Unit in recent years. This was by far the worst experience I have had in hospital. Most of the staff on Mulberry Ward completely detached from the patients; at best they were neglectful, at worst abusive. I can not understand how anyone gets better here. I spent my entire stay in a state of panic, desperately needing to get out, and was in a worse state when I left than when I was admitted. The occupational therapy team were brilliant, and very much needed, but sadly patients were often not encouraged to go to the OT groups.
