"Behaviour clinic"

About: St Peter's Hospital (Chertsey)

I'm very sad to say I've reached the end of my tether with this clinic! My daughter now 18 was prescribed Elvanse over the phone and prescription was ready all in one day which was fantastic! When they ran out, the GP hadn't received shared care, so after a long 6 weeks of constant phone calls we got another prescription in that time she went from being a grade A student to being put on a warning! It affected her ADHD very badly! My youngest has ADHD, he was given strattera, which made him depressed and suicidal although we were told this was for our benefit as parents! He was put on another medication but wore off too quick so given a top up for the afternoon, when it ran out went to GP no shared care again! So took 5 weeks to get another one from the hospital as it wasn't written in his notes! He suffers eating problems he will eat and eat, if no food he will eat paper plastic etc, have raised this issue constantly but nothing, so those 5 weeks he choked twice on paper as he didn't have the meds! He was also under a fab rheumatologist who we saw and told us our son could dislocate from the jaw down, we had a follow up and because I have ADHD I rang to check when it was to be told it had changed and I missed it! I explained I never received a reminder or anything which I heavily rely on, and I have ADHD to be told that's not their problem and I've DNA so now discharged! We are now left with no care for our son! My other son has an erratic heartbeat which I've raised again and again but nothing, he is on concerta, I raised the issue with his ADHD nurse who said he needs to be brought in ASAP, heard nothing since! My mental health is deteriorating because of all this! I'm sorry to say I'm going to my GP to not only complain but to be referred elsewhere as I can't go back there! Also my sons sleep medication was stopped with no explanation apart from they aren't going to prescribe it, so now not only am I carer for disabled husband and mum to 4, I'm now having this battle which I don't need!

I also wanted to say that it's not the staffs fault the clinic has become what it is! I really like the consultants there although they don't listen to me and sometimes I think they think I'm a delusional mother! The clinic is shocking, I hear from other parents who are going through similar! It needs sorting ASAP before something happens to a child who can't get their medication for what ever reason. It's sad to see it come to this, I don't want to point the finger at anyone in paticular but doctors have to accept responsibility for their own mistakes. Please help this clinic, it's such a shame, but I'm afraid I'm not willing to give it yet another chance X

We are really sorry and concerned to hear about your experiences with our Behaviour Clinic and how it has affected you and your children.

In particular that the shared care had not worked as it should have and your children were without the correct medication they needed.

We would like the opportunity to discuss this further with you and would encourage you to contact Patient Experience Team on 01932 723553 or email pals@asph.nhs.uk.

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback.
