"Fab call handler and GP"

(as a relative),

My mother in law was discharged from hospital and unfortunately the discharge summary did not reach her local pharmacy in time This delayed her new plus pak which contained a substantial amount of medication from being delivered in time for the weekend. NHS 24 where contacted and where extremely helpful from the call handler and the GP Dr Cooper who prescribed the medication and requested the nearest pharmacy to myself I cannot thank them enough for the understanding and speed that this was dealt with Due to the nature of the medication adverse health problems where prevented.

Thank you for your feedback via Patient Opinion. I was sorry to learn that your mother in law had been hospitalised but pleased to note that she has now been discharged. I do wish her well.

Not having her current medications to manage her care would have been a worry I am sure. I am pleased that NHS 24 and the Out of Hours GP were able to assist at this time and that the required medications were able to be obtained from the Pharmacy. This is a good example of where services work together to ensure the best possible care for a patient thereby preventing any adverse health problems.
