"Thank you for caring for my grandson"

My grandson had been ill for several days prior to visiting us for Easter and so because Kingsmill wasn't far they took him to the walk-in centre. They had a 30 minute wait before he was assessed and they took him to the children's a&e. From there he was admitted to ward 25 for a course of iv anti-biotics. My grandson is not quite 3 years old and has never been near a hospital, and after finding it difficult to settle he was put in a room by himself and his daddy stayed with him.

The facilities and level of care on the unit were first rate. He was settled and happy and his parents relieved that he was being cared for by understanding and professional staff. He was discharged after 3 days and went home on oral ant-biotics.
