"disappointment"

About: Goring Hall Hospital

My daughter has now had her gall bladder operation cancelled the day before her operation twice now and this is not acceptable she has been in terrible pain since July last year and is having to juggle a family and work commitments everytime she gets a new appointment.the reason being the surgeon has been ill or hurt their back.

My question is if they have private patients who does their operation and why is there no back up ,its not fair she should have to wait even longer.

Thank you for leaving your feedback.

I am really sorry to hear that your daughter’s operation was cancelled twice and at such short notice.

Please be assured that operations are cancelled very rarely and to happen twice is understandably frustrating and extremely inconvenient, especially as arrangements have been made by the patient who is also in pain.

All feedback is shared with our staff and when an issue has been brought to our attention, we investigate the circumstances to try and identify ways we can improve our processes and prevent the situations from happening again.

However, there are occasions, due to unforeseen circumstances when a consultant is ill and it is deemed to be in the best interests or the safest decision for a patient for us to cancel the operation.
