"Great staff poor facilities."

About: The Tunbridge Wells Hospital

I cannot say a bad thing about the stag that have been fantastic during the birth of my daughter.

The one thing that lets it down is that I've had to sell my first child to enable us to get a remote control for the TVs and a pillow.

These items are like gold dust. The first room was stuck on BBC 1 which was fine you can live with that the next room was stuck in heart fm this for nearly 7 hours will want to make anyone want to jump! Luckily the great staff found me a remote so whilst my parter was in labour I can have something on in the back ground.

We then moved to room 3 and the TV didn't work what so ever.

Now I know we are not there to watch TV but it's a great distraction.

I find from the staff that all the remotes have been stolen along with the pillows.

The system in place for TVs is really shocking considering freeview should be in place in every room.

1 remote for the TV instead of 2 you have now would be 10000x's better and then bolt that remote below the TV to the wall. It can then change all the channels.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your recent experience during the birth of your daughter.

We were very pleased to learn that the staff involved in the care of your partner and baby were so helpful and were able to source a remote control for you.

We recognise that there is an issue with remote controls being mislaid and that this can be a source of inconvenience for patients and relatives.

However, staff are always happy to try to remedy this.

We are very lucky in being able to offer inpatients at Tunbridge Wells Hospital free to view televisions, thanks to a generous donation from the Friends of Tunbridge Wells Hospital, a facility much appreciated by many patients.

May we take this opportunity to congratulate you and your partner on your new arrival.

Kind regards, The PALS Team.
