"Telephone Numbers"

About: Manchester Royal Eye Hospital

Received a letter providing date & time of my eye operation later in 2016.

Letter requests I telephone to confirm I will attend ... No telephone number provided to do this.

There is a handwritten telephone number in the letter to be used only if I am unable to attend. Used the number only to find it cannot be recognised.

Please supply some reliable info!

Ms Bateman, Matron at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital was very sorry to receive your comments and concerns via the NHS Choices / Patient Opinion website about the recent letter you received from the Eye Hospital in January 2016 about your operation.

It is very difficult to respond to the specific concerns you have raised without being able to investigate them in detail, however Ms Bateman has passed on the concerns you have raised to the Eye Hospital Admissions Team who will review all of their standard documentation to identify the letter you refer to and then the error can be corrected. Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.

We take all issues surrounding patient experience, especially the importance of good communication very seriously and would very much like to hear from you directly in order to investigate how the letter was sent to you without the correct telephone contact number included..
