What a difference a Trust makes Wexham Park Hospital.
On arriving in A&E tonight 22nd of March around 7.30pm it was very busy, but the reception staff were quick and efficient so within 15 mins of arriving we saw the Triage nurse who was also very competent and dealt with us and explained what to expect, due to the volume of people waiting.
Approximately one and a half hours later we saw a doctor. Quite quick considering. They greeted us with a smile my 73 year old husband who has short term memory problems was afforded the time to explain his problem, at all times being treated with respect, and keeping his dignity. All the test required were completed within the hour, his treatment was quick informative and we had the confidence in this dr so we were happy with the final diagnosis.
Tonight went a long way in beginning to restore my husbands confidence in Wexham Park.
My only niggle was two nurses were discussing the patient in the next bed, at the end of my husbands bed, not good practice I feel
But putting that aside my husbands treatment was excellent. Thank you!
