(as the patient),

We have been very pleased so far with the therapy our son has received for his disfluency. It is early days, and progress is not steady, but we are very happy with the therapist - she seems extremely capable and involves us fully, explaining clearly the approach she is adopting and her reasoning.

Our only disappointment was that it took several months from us raising a concern about our son's fluency before we reached the top of the queue and received our first appointment.

We are really pleased to hear that you are happy with the therapy your son is receiving from the Trust despite the rather long wait for his first appointment for which we apologise. Referrals to Speech and Language therapy are increasing which, combined with the need to fill vacant posts, has led to increased waiting times. We are working hard to try and bring these waiting times down.
