I was admitted as an elective case to have 4 teeth out on the 11/3/2015, in theatre under General Anaesthetic!
I last went to the same hospital about 4-5 years ago for the same thing, but was only day surgery, as had someone to pick me up and stay with me!
Since then, the hospital has had some good major changes made to the hospital, which is still ongoing.
The old day surgery unit has now gone, as have built a new theatre complex, with a better recovery area, and separate discharge lounge. On top of that they have got the Rowntrees theatres adjacent to this new theatre complex, but just down the corridor a bit.
My op went well, the recovery ward was spacious and clean, with a member of staff, sitting by each patient during the whole time your in the recovery ward.
I was then greeted in recovery by a nurse from Ross Tilley Ward, whom them-self and my nurse from recovery, wheeled me down to the ward.
Ross Tilley Ward was spotless, and all same sex bays, so no sharing with other members of the other sex.
Food, drinks, medication is all done very well, to the point i would rate it 5*!
All the staff were more than attentive, and always had time for each patient!
I had breakfast this morning, then afterwards, each patient went to have a shower.
Once each patient used the shower rooms, staff would clean it straight away, so another patient could use the shower rooms.
When i got back to the bay i was in, the staff remade my bed for me with fresh linen.
The Doctors came and saw me, and said they were happy with my progress, that i would be discharged about lunchtime!
But it was half 10 that i was discharged, with painkillers and information with contact numbers, for switchboard, the ward i was on, and instructions on how to contact the doctor out of daytime hours.
The best service and Hospital ive ever been too!
Keep it up QVH, you are all wonderfull!
"Always been a clean, friendly Hospital"
