"First class treatment in A&E, Deane Ward and..."

About: Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

I was admitted on 07.03.16, after 20 hours of being unable to swallow food or liquid. The treatment from the first nurse who saw me through to the consultant who admitted me @ 19:30 was brilliant. Nursing staff apologised for a lack of immediate bed, but I was made comfortable where I was. I made it to MAU ward @ 22.00 and they were having a tough time with a couple of challenging patients. They actually moved me to a quieter ward @ 00;30 in the morning. Deane ward was brilliant, from one particular nursing assistant, through to another nurse, who was extremely professional, and led by the ward sister, who made sure that I had an endoscopy appointment that day. This is not the nicest of procedures and my appointment was 4:15. The team were brilliant, professionally, but also in an amusing way putting me at ease and really helping me through the procedure. I was also given clear feedback at the end, for which I was grateful. Another thing that impressed me was that the nursing assistant and the porter who took me down to Endoscopy were talking about potential interviews and job trials with real excitement. David Sissling I implore to get Jeremy Hunt to visit your hospital, because it is a place full of caring people who are proud of their jobs.
