I was referred to Glenfield Hospital from the Cardiology Department at Lincoln County for a Mitral Valve repair and a bypass. Everything about this hospital was excellent, from the first meeting with the surgeon to admittance and then discharge.
I was unable to recommend any individual for an award as, to my mind, everybody was deserving, from the surgeons, anaesthetists, doctors, nurses, kitchen, cleaning staff and any that I've missed out. Everyone appeared dedicated to their job and were only too willing to share a smile and a chat.
I was particularly happy with the way senior staff now treat patients. They all remember who you are, and are only too willing to talk about your particular case. I'm old enough to remember the days when you never met surgeons, other than in the operating theatre.
The on-site accommodation is also brilliant. My wife was able to stay in her own flat within the hospital grounds at a very reasonable cost which saved her travelling daily from Lincoln. The cost of the flat was not much more than the petrol cost and the convenience of saving three hours a day travelling is well worth considering if you are going to Glenfield.
"Excellent hospital with first class treatment"
