"Contraception problem"

About: Locala Community Partnerships CIC / Kirklees Sexual Health

(as the patient),

I've been having issues with my implant and wanted to speak to a nurse for advice and treatment.

I rang CASH for an appointment and was told to just come down to the drop in before 3 that afternoon.

On arrival I was disgusted At the car park charge at PRCHC which is £2. 50 for two hours. When I checked in I was told I could be waiting two hours. Not a great start. The receptionist was rude. The waiting room was filthy with bare plaster in one corner. Not so much as a clock. No magazines. Just An intrusive television blaring out daytime tv.

After watching several people come in after me and still get seen before me I enquirer at reception to make sure I hadn't been forgotten. The receptionist rudely told me that everyone was here for different reasons but if I needed to rush off I could make an appointment. Seeing as I'd already paid for parking I said I didn't see the point in wasting time and money twice and went back to the grotty waiting room.

When I was eventually seen, the nurse didn't seem to be taking much notice of what I was saying at all. The nurse spoke very fast and started asking me about things I hadn't even gone there for.

Eventually after making the decision to have my implant removed the nurse asked me to book the next available appointment on my way out because there was no one there that could do it today.

At reception it turned out that the next appointment is in 5 weeks time. Not a great service. Horrible surroundings. Rude staff. Overpriced parking. How Locala can claim to be doing anything for the benefit of the community is beyond me.
