"Concerned about the care of my mother in Arrowe Park"

During my mothers stay she has:

1/ lost her wedding ring, off her finger

2/ had two falls, one of which is thought to have caused a stroke and I believe both through negligence

3/ mum has told me she was accused of making herself sick when actually she felt she had the virus that had swept through the hospital.

4/ She said she had been shouted at for soiling herself despite the fact that she is probably incontinent as a result of the stroke she suffered.

5/ She was left in her own waste because it was "too early" to clean her up

6/ She was left in bed for so long without being turned regularly that she now has pressure sores, although I informed the nursing staff numerous times that she had a sore bottom.

Other members of the family have been treated here and received good care so it is not just because we are "moaners". I would much rather be writing good things.

Unfortunately, our mother is likely to be in hospital for some time trying to learn to walk again after so long in bed. Let’s hope we can either move her or things improve- I feel that the former would be better.
