"Another Parking Nightmare"

About: Maidstone District General Hospital

Arrived at Maidstone hospital car park today at 1045am. Received a ticket ok then spent the next 25 minutes trying to find a parking space. There were another 12 to 15 cars trying to find a space. There were vehicles parked outside designated bays and all the time more tickets were being issued!! In the end, I gave up, got my ticket franked and left the car park. Luckily, I found a space in the small car park at the back of the hospital but only after many laps of this car park. Like the main car park, the machine was still issuing tickets.

I found out from a member of staff that there was extra parking to the main car park on the far side. If this was the case, where were the signs?

I dread trying to park in Medway Maritime Hospital, but from my experience today, give me Medway anytime.

On the up side of today, the visit to the eye day care unit was first class.

Response from Maidstone District General Hospital

Dear John, thank you for taking the time to leave feedback regarding the parking facilities at Maidstone Hospital.

We appreciate that parking can be a frustrating issue and the Trust has work ongoing to increase the number of parking spaces, as well as improving the patient flow through the outpatients departments, to try to ensure that there are spaces available throughout the day.

An additional car park opened at the top of the site a short time ago and your comments relating to the signage will be shared with our Estates and Facilities team.

We are pleased that the service you received in the eye department was of a high standard and we will pass your comments on to them.

Kind regards, The PALS Team.
